Richie was home for the weekend ! What is that like ?
How Handsome is this boy ?
We had our little boy home for the weekend ! It required 8 hours of drive time within the 24 hours we had him and 4 of the hours with him n the car lol!
We are nearing one year that Richie has not lived here ;( On June 26th 2013 on an emergent day , he was taken to Hampstead Hospital in New Hampshire and was there 3 months. They were amazing there and are one of the only three hospitals in the country of it's kind . I am one of the few people that don't complain about how much health insurance is every week because that stay alone was over $100,000 ! During his stay he could not leave the hospital and I can't even describe to you just how hard that was for me as a mom . They were dumbfounded we had him at home for so long and he wasn't in A Residential program yet ( I had vowed it would never ever happen ) They had a very hard time with him in an environment that was designed for children like Richie , but Richie is a whole other Ballgame and I have yet to see another child as challenging as he is which is frightening as he is growing so big . At the hospital they had a family overnight room which I used twice a week , I was there about 4 days and here about 3 days week . (I used to love to drive before all this happened!) The drive some days could be 4.5 hours one way with the traffic on Interstate 495 . It was an exhausting 3 months to say the least and of course financially devastating to say the least . The hospital was actually quite an amazing place ad they even had school during the week in a beautiful classroom . They worked diligently to fins Richie a perfect Residential program and that we did .
Having him home is so wonderful and so difficult at the same time because it takes 3 adults here doing nothing else but taking care of Richie . (barely lol) and after being wiped out from traveling . His medication alone is Rocket science lol
But through it all we had amazing family time full of fun and giggles ! My favorite part is laying next to him until he falls asleep just looking at face and smelling his beautiful head ! I fill him with healthy Organic food . I kiss and hug him 500 million times at least ! It's when we have to bring him back the rips my heart to shreds and for the first time he was visibly sad when we dropped him off and words could never describe the pain in my heart <3
There is so much good in everything so I'm always seeking it out . This weekend the weather was simply gorgeous and I was mesmerized by the Sky and clouds so perfect, abundant , and beautiful . These are the simple things that keep me going ...
